Emergency Plans and Safety

A trusted individual will be trained to respond in an emergency!

We will have a group chat of emergency contacts that will be contacted each day before 8 pm! Our appointed emergency coordinator will let your emergency contacts that we are safe and at camp for the night. If we do not have cell service, we will send a text via our satellite phone by 8 pm (MST).

Cell Service Notification

  • We will have sparse cell service throughout the entire trip. The Grand Teton National Park is not known for its impeccable cell service. There will be times when we have service and you are welcome to check in with your family.

  • One note: Because we do not have cell service, it is important that you stay with our group at all times. Any time we are traveling, we will be together. If you separate from the group, you may have cell service.

Emergency Plan

  • You will hear from us once a day before 8 pm that we are safe!

    • If we do not contact you at any point in the day, you will want to look at the itinerary to provide the emergency dispatch at the Grand Tetons Park Ranger Station with our approximate location and details for the day.

  • If you hear from us that we are in need of help contact: 911 and then the Park Ranger Emergency Dispatch.

  • If we have a minor injury from 9 am to 5 pm (twist, sprain, cut, scrape), we will go to the Grand Teton Medical Clinic. Lea Hart and Aaren Prody have copies of each person's health insurance.

  • If we have a major injury and are unable to transport, we will need emergency dispatch from the Grand Tetons Park Ranger Station. The message will have the trailhead location - if we can make it there!

  • If we are lost or in danger, we will need emergency dispatch from the Grand Tetons Park Ranger Station.

Will I be required to sign a waiver?

Yes. You will be required to sign a waiver and a photo/video release prior to signing up for the trip. This waiver is an acknowledgment that you understand the risk assumed when attending a group trip.

I am providing a copy of the waiver for you to browse ahead of the trip launch.
